Project Description

Bam Earthquake Region, 4000 Man, 1000 Modular Emergency Accommodation Units / Disaster Housing

Emergency settlements built on behalf of Japanese State after the Iran Bam Earthquake are residential buildings formed by the combination of dual units of 3m width and 12m length. They were shipped to the earthquake field as “flat-pack” and transformed into volumetric structures in the field. These multi-purpose containers have met the temporary accommodation needs of the victims after the earthquake. Later, they were transferred to different regions in Iran and started to be used as a university dormitory.
