A Rapid, Safe, and Humanitarian Shelter Solution for Displaced Persons

During the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, as the need for safe shelter became urgent, DORÇE, in cooperation with Baranova27, Inc., rapidly completed the design, engineering, and production processes of emergency accommodation units and delivered them to the site. The project, consisting of a total of 10 modular steel accommodation units, was delivered in April 2022.

The primary objective of this project was to provide displaced families and at risk individuals with safe and healthy living spaces, offering a humanitarian solution to temporary shelter needs.

Rapid and Reliable Shelter with Modular Steel Accommodation Units

The Modular Steel Building System used in the project delivers critical advantages required in emergency scenarios, including:
• rapid production
• fast installation
• secure structural performance
• portability and flexibility for relocation

The design, engineering, and production of each unit were carried out by DORÇE, and the units were shipped ready for use. This approach minimized on site time loss and enabled the shelter infrastructure to be commissioned within a very short period.

Human Centered Design in Compliance with Humanitarian Standards

The emergency accommodation units were planned with a human focused approach, particularly considering the needs of vulnerable groups. Interior spaces were designed to meet comfort and safety criteria through:
• secure living areas
• functional layouts that meet basic equipment needs
• durable and hygienic surfaces
• structural components suitable for long term use

Rapid Mobilization and International Cooperation in Crisis Zones

Thanks to its expertise in global supply chain and logistics management, DORÇE successfully completed the project in a short timeframe despite challenging field conditions. This project stands as a strong example of how international cooperation and rapid mobilization capabilities are critical in humanitarian solutions.
