Turnkey Camp Infrastructure for Nuclear Energy and Power Plant Projects
The Imouraren Uranium Facility Worker Accommodation Camp Project was implemented within the scope of the Imouraren Uranium Mine Project, one of the most strategic investments in the nuclear energy sector, located in Niger. The project was planned to serve Imouraren SA, operating under the French nuclear energy group AREVA, and to support the project engineering company TSU (Technip – Sogea – Urenco), a joint venture of SGN (Société Générale pour les Techniques Nouvelles) and Technip. The project was completed on a turnkey basis under the Design & Build model.
This project stands as a strong demonstration of DORÇE’s capability to deliver rapid mobilization and reliable camp solutions in challenging geographies for high-security energy and nuclear sector projects.
Structural Systems Suitable for Power Plants and Nuclear Facilities
The Imouraren Worker Accommodation Camp was developed by taking into account the durability, safety, and long service life requirements essential for energy and nuclear facility projects. Multiple building technologies were utilized together within the project:
Light Gauge Steel Frame (LGSF) structures
Pre-Engineered Heavy Steel / Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) systems
Modular steel building solutions
Thanks to this hybrid structural approach, both fast construction and high structural performance were achieved, resulting in a sustainable camp infrastructure suitable for harsh climate and site conditions.
Comprehensive Construction, Mechanical, and Electrical Works
With a total construction area of 1,848 m², the scope of work executed by DORÇE within the project included:
Building construction works
Electrical systems
Mechanical installation works
Furniture and equipment (furnishing) works for accommodation buildings
All works were carried out in accordance with the high engineering standards, occupational safety requirements, and operational continuity criteria applicable to nuclear and energy projects.
Safe and Sustainable Camp Solution in a Challenging Geography
Designed with consideration for Niger’s climatic conditions and logistical challenges, the Imouraren Worker Camp was planned to meet the safe, comfortable, and long-term accommodation needs of technical and administrative personnel working on site. In this respect, the project offers a scalable camp model for nuclear energy and mining investments across Africa.
A Strong DORÇE Reference for the Energy and Nuclear Sector
The Imouraren Uranium Facility Worker Accommodation Camp Project is a prestigious reference demonstrating DORÇE’s engineering strength, site organization capability, and international experience in delivering turnkey camp solutions in the following areas:
Nuclear energy projects
Power plant worker camps
Uranium mine site facilities
African energy infrastructure investments
Design & Build camp projects
