An Integrated Infrastructure and Industrial Prefabricated Modular Facility Solution Delivered Under the EPC Model for a Strategic Natural Gas Investment in Central Asia

Located in Beyneu, one of Kazakhstan’s strategic energy regions, the Shagyrly Shomyshty Gas Drilling and Processing Facility has been implemented as one of Central Asia’s most significant natural gas infrastructure investments. With approximately 32 billion cubic meters of proven natural gas reserves, the Shagyrly Shomyshty field plays a critical role in ensuring regional and international energy supply security.

Within the scope of this large-scale energy project, DORÇE Prefabricated & Construction undertook the works under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model, completing all infrastructure and superstructure works on a turnkey basis in compliance with heavy industrial standards.

Industrial Gas Facilities with an Integrated EPC Approach

Within the scope of the Shagyrly Shomyshty Gas Drilling and Processing Facility Project, all turnkey infrastructure and superstructure works were fully executed by DORÇE under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model. As part of the project, a central booster compressor station with gas processing units was constructed using reinforced concrete, light steel, and heavy steel structural systems, and all industrial buildings and site facilities were completed in full compliance with international oil and gas standards.

The works carried out within the project scope included building construction works, electrical works, mechanical works, engineering services, site roads, landscaping applications, potable water and wastewater tanks, CCTV security and surveillance systems, as well as all pipe connections and field piping infrastructure. All infrastructure and superstructure works were planned and implemented to ensure the facility’s safe, sustainable, and uninterrupted operation.

Spanning a very large site area of 2,310,000 m², the project included the completion of 19,000 m³ of reinforced concrete foundations, 7,000 m³ of site concrete (totaling 28,000 m²), 135,000 m³ of excavation, 30,000 m³ of soil backfill, and 9,000 m³ of crushed stone fill, creating a high load-bearing and long-lasting ground infrastructure required for heavy industrial facilities. Thanks to these comprehensive ground and concrete works, the gas drilling and processing facilities were enabled to operate safely under challenging environmental and operational conditions.

The Shagyrly Shomyshty Gas Drilling and Processing Facility stands as a significant reference project demonstrating DORÇE’s strong EPC capability and engineering experience in large-scale oil and gas projects, complex infrastructure and industrial facilities, and across the Central Asian region.

High-Durability Structures for the Oil and Gas Sector

The Shagyrly Shomyshty Gas Facility is a project that requires long-lasting and high-strength structural systems in the harsh climatic and geographical conditions of the Kazakh steppes. In this context, DORÇE developed industrial facilities by combining reinforced concrete, light steel, and heavy steel structural solutions, prioritizing operational continuity, occupational safety, and ease of maintenance.

DORÇE’s EPC Experience in Central Asia

Successfully completed between 2007 and 2009, the Shagyrly Shomyshty Gas Drilling and Processing Facility Project clearly demonstrates DORÇE’s engineering strength and EPC capabilities in the oil and gas sector, large-scale industrial facilities, and Central Asian energy investments. This project serves as a strong reference for DORÇE’s ability to deliver international-standard solutions in energy infrastructure, gas processing facilities, compressor stations, and heavy industrial structures.
