Africa’s Most Comprehensive Medical Infrastructure Investment with Dorce Prefabricated and Construction

Ivory Coast is implementing the most comprehensive medical infrastructure investment program in its history with the aim of restructuring its national healthcare system. Led by the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene, this strategic program seeks to expand modern, sustainable, and accessible healthcare services throughout the country. At the core of this vision are Dorce’s prefabricated modular hospital and clinic solutions.

Within the framework of an international consortium formed together with MissionPharma of Denmark and ALLIAD, DORCE is directly contributing to Côte d’Ivoire’s healthcare transformation by producing a total of 92 medical buildings across 22 different locations. The project represents a nationwide healthcare reform financed by EIFO, the Danish Export and Investment Fund, Denmark’s official export credit agency.

The Foundation of Modern Healthcare: 92 New Hospital and Clinic Units Distributed Across 22 Cities and Regions

The modular buildings produced by DORCE are being delivered to 22 different locations throughout the country. Each facility is designed to enhance local healthcare capacity and improve access to essential medical services.

The range of clinic and facility types includes:

  • Maternity units
  • Maternal and child health and delivery units
  • General surgery and outpatient clinics
  • Emergency response units
  • Primary healthcare centers
  • Auxiliary medical service buildings

This diversity clearly demonstrates that the project goes beyond simple building supply and instead establishes a comprehensive and scalable national healthcare infrastructure model.

Offsite Manufacturing and Flat Pack Logistics for Rapid and Secure Installation

All buildings are manufactured offsite at DORCE’s high capacity production facilities in Ankara. The units are delivered in flat pack format, significantly reducing operational costs while accelerating on site installation processes.

This modern construction and logistics approach enables:

  • Optimization of logistics operations
  • Improved transportation safety
  • Minimization of site installation time
  • Delivery of buildings ready for commissioning within only a few weeks

DORCE Engineering Strengthened by International Collaboration, Danish Financing, and European Healthcare Standards

This large scale healthcare infrastructure initiative is being executed by an international consortium comprising three highly specialized organizations. MissionPharma, a global leader in medical equipment and hospital solutions, ALLIAD as the main contractor responsible for project management and site coordination, and DORCE, which is responsible for building design, engineering, modular manufacturing, and all logistics processes, are jointly delivering a nationwide healthcare transformation.

Project financing is provided by EIFO, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark. In this respect, the project serves as a benchmark model in terms of financial reliability and compliance with European healthcare standards. Supported by modern construction technologies, this approach enables the realization of long term, sustainable, and high quality healthcare infrastructure solutions across Côte d’Ivoire.

Government Support and Strategic Significance

The final beneficiary of the project, the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene of Côte d’Ivoire, is implementing a strategic national reform program aimed at transforming healthcare services across the country. Within this framework, the project directly addresses national priorities such as:

  • Increasing safe childbirth rates
  • Reducing maternal and child mortality
  • Expanding capacity for surgical and hospital services
  • Improving access to quality healthcare in rural and underserved regions

Accordingly, the project is regarded not merely as a building procurement initiative, but as a critical public investment aimed at strengthening the national healthcare system.

Project Timeline

  • Initial works commenced in 2024 under a different contractor.
  • In 2025, the majority of the main building supply scope was transferred to DORCE.
  • All building shipments are scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2026.
  • All on site installations and commissioning of the facilities are planned to be completed during 2027.

This timeline represents a clear demonstration of DORCE’s speed, reliability, and engineering capability in delivering large scale international healthcare infrastructure projects.
