The Logistics Warehouses and Hangars Construction Project for AFAD is a strategic public infrastructure initiative launched to strengthen post disaster rapid response and logistics support capacity following the earthquakes that occurred in Türkiye in 2013.

Owned by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of the Republic of Türkiye and executed under the coordination of the Housing Development Administration of Türkiye, this project was implemented simultaneously in six provinces: Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzurum, Muş, and Sivas.

EPC Delivery Model and Pre Engineered Heavy Steel Construction Expertise

The project was managed end to end by DORCE under the EPC model, covering engineering, procurement, and construction on a turnkey basis. The logistics warehouses were designed with a total enclosed area of 9,960 square meters and a site area of 48,000 square meters. High strength Pre Engineered Heavy Steel construction systems were selected in line with disaster logistics requirements.

This system enabled the following key advantages:

• High Structural Strength:
Superior resistance and long term durability against earthquakes and harsh climatic conditions.

• Functional Capacity:
Wide span structural capability and functional layouts optimized for logistics operations.

• Critical Equipment Integration:
Procurement and installation of overhead rail crane systems with a lifting capacity of 24 tons, essential for critical logistics operations, were fully executed by DORCE within the project scope.

Ninety Day Delivery Record Across Multiple Locations

DORCE successfully completed and commissioned this large scale project, executed simultaneously across six different cities, within a record timeframe of only ninety days between November 2013 and February 2014.

This rapid EPC project delivery stands as a strong reference demonstrating DORCE’s global capability in planning, coordination, and execution of multi location public infrastructure and disaster preparedness projects.

The AFAD Logistics Warehouses Project has played a critical role in strengthening Türkiye’s national disaster management infrastructure. Through this project, DORCE has clearly demonstrated its EPC expertise and heavy steel construction capability in the fields of disaster logistics centers, heavy steel warehouse projects, and emergency storage facilities.
