A Large Scale EPC Camp Solution for Kazakhstan’s Oil and Gas Sector

The Karachaganak Gas Terminal Worker Accommodation Camp for 7,000 people is a large scale oil and gas camp infrastructure project developed by Dorce under the Design, Engineering, and Supply model within the scope of the Karachaganak Oil and Gas Field, one of the most strategic petroleum and natural gas fields located in western Kazakhstan.

The project was executed for ES KO International Inc. with Consolidated Contractors International Company and SAIPEM ENI as the end clients. It was designed with a strong focus on high security requirements, operational continuity, and long term use. The camp settlement, with an enclosed area of approximately 40,000 square meters, was planned to serve a high density workforce of 7,000 people.

Industrial Durability Through LGSF and Pre Engineered Steel Building Systems

The structures within the project were manufactured using the following systems:

• Light Gauge Steel Frame structural system
• Pre Engineered Steel Building systems

These systems enabled the delivery of durable and long lasting structures suitable for the harsh climatic conditions of the Karachaganak region, high wind loads, and intensive usage scenarios. The modular and industrialized production approach provided rapid on site installation and controlled quality assurance.

End to End Engineering and Technical System Integration

Dorce’s scope of work extended beyond structural supply and adopted an integrated approach covering all technical infrastructure requirements of the camp. Within this scope, the following were delivered in compliance with international oil and gas standards:

• Engineering and technical design services
• Structural supply and site supervision
• Electrical infrastructure systems
• Mechanical installations
• Fire detection and fire alarm systems

This holistic approach allowed the camp settlement to be commissioned rapidly without the need for additional on site modifications.
