The Iraq Vehicle Inspection Stations Project is a critical public infrastructure investment implemented by Dorce for the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Iraq, directly integrated into the country’s national transportation infrastructure. Within the scope of the project, Dorce successfully designed and constructed a total of 20 vehicle inspection stations across 17 cities throughout Iraq under the Design and Build delivery model, despite high security risks and severe logistical challenges.
This project clearly demonstrates Dorce’s capability to deliver rapid mobilization, simultaneous site management, and operational continuity in multi location infrastructure developments.
Industrial Durability Through Pre Engineered Heavy Steel PEB Technology
All structures within the project, with a total enclosed area of 91,000 square meters, were constructed using the Pre Engineered Heavy Steel Building system, one of the most suitable solutions for industrial facilities.
This structural system provided the following key advantages:
• Speed:
Off site prefabrication in controlled factory environments enabled rapid on site installation and fast commissioning.
• Structural Strength:
High load bearing capacity and long term durability suitable for intensive use and heavy equipment.
• Environmental Resistance:
Superior performance against harsh climatic and environmental conditions.
The vehicle inspection stations were designed with functional layouts based on principles of operational efficiency, user safety, and sustainable long term use.
Simultaneous Operational Management Across 17 Cities
One of the most critical aspects of the project was the execution of a multi location construction process requiring simultaneous mobilization in a geography with elevated security risks. Dorce successfully managed this challenge through advanced logistics planning, strong site organization, and an integrated project management approach.
Construction activities were carried out across 17 cities throughout Iraq, including Amara, Baghdad Bob Al Sham, Baghdad Taji, Babil, Basrah, Divaniyah, Dohuk, Dyala, Kerbela, Kirkuk, Kut, Mosul, Najaf, Nasiria, Ramadi, Samawa, Selahaddin Tikrit, and Suleymania. All vehicle inspection stations within the project scope were fully completed and delivered by December 2013.
The end to end integrated management model covering design, engineering, logistics, infrastructure, and superstructure works ensured quality standardization and effective risk mitigation across all locations.
A Strong Reference for International Transportation and Security Infrastructure
The Iraq Vehicle Inspection Stations Project stands as a strong reference confirming Dorce’s international engineering and construction experience within public infrastructure and national transportation investments. The project offers a strategic solution model for infrastructure developments that require speed, simultaneous site management, and multi city execution capabilities, particularly in regions with high security requirements.
