Dorce Prefabricated Buildings&Construction Inc. is carrying out its latest project in Qatar using Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Dorce carries out its “Container Modules” project in Qatar with Building Information Modeling (BIM). While 3D/4D/5D processes were applied within the scope of the project, all the complexes of the project were manufactured using BIM. In this way, the process between units was controlled and maximum benefit was obtained in terms of time and production.

The construction industry is also making great progress on the path to digitalization. Previously hand-processed construction documents are now easily created on computers with computer-aided drawing tools in the system called CAD. However, this system cannot provide the necessary infrastructure to transfer the information of the elements that make up the structure.

BIM Has Distinguished Itself From Other Methods by Treating Building Elements as Smart Objects

Building Information Modeling (BIM) enables architects and engineers to plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructure more efficiently. The 3D model-based process made BIM an important methodology. Virtually constructing a building before physically constructing it to see probable problems and effects is now possible. The created virtual model broadly supports the process from preliminary design to post-construction building management, including procurement and manufacturing. Thus, the entire life cycle from design to destruction is revealed.

Dorce handles its projects in 8 dimensions

Today BIM is used not only to design and document a project, but also to strengthen communication between all project participants.

The dimensions are;

  • 3D Model
  • Schedule
  • Budget (Cost)
  • Sustainability (Lifecycle)
  • Facility Management (Maintenance)
  • Health, Security and Environment

BIM will be a must ın the near future

Having realized the benefits and possibilities offered by BIM, developed countries such as the USA, England, and Japan have now started to make BIM obligatory in their construction processes. Likewise, the use of BIM has been made mandatory in rail system projects in Turkey. It is predicted that BIM will be widely used in all public projects in the near future.

Dorce Prefabricated Buildings&Construction Inc. Conducts Prefabricated Container Design and Manufacturing Processes using BIM

Dorce is carrying out the Construction of Container Modules project in Qatar using BIM. While applying the 3D/4D/5D processes within the scope of the project, all complexes are manufactured with the BIM model. In this way, conflicts of interdisciplinary practices are detected before manufacturing activities begin. Revisions and cost estimation are also carried out more accurately in a shorter time.
